WannaBe: In case I forgot, congrats to them Lady Bruins. =)) U. Mich (69-63) won, but the last spread I saw was -6.5, so if you took UConn w/ spread, you got very lucky, if you bet on them U. Mich, I feel bad; the O/U was 148.5

WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: ¡Olé! ¡Olé! this is what I see for "¡Olé! ¡Olé!" (game of the day Mar-13-2026) I also know this issue have been around for a while, and it's not that important, in IT term, it is a level 'C', cosmetic fix. But I just wish to report it again. Can CG.com unify this ...

WannaBe: <FSR> March 11 is his birthday, and usually PoD is chosen from the birth date of the player. So unless CG.com decides to change the algorithm on how PoD is decided. We will randomly get "undesired" player(s).

Apr-25-13  Jim Bartle: "...not that they were the first team to thus reward a player from someone else's Super Bowl winner in such fashion."

Boy, is that true. In the 90s a Dallas CB intercepted two passes against Pittsburgh, both thrown right to him with no receiver near.

Some team signed him to a monster contract, then ended up cutting him a year or two later, he was so bad.

perfidious: <hangingenprise: why am i still a traider fan after all those horrendous picks and signings over the years?>

One could easily ask me the same question.

Al Davis was a genius with great vision, but he went myopic later in life, as his ego got rather the better of his judgment, a not uncommon affliction in brilliant men whose best days have passed by them.

Apr-27-13  Jim Bartle: The Raiders began to believe in speed at receiver, instead of good football players. Probably because of the brilliant play of Cliff Branch. But they wasted some high draft choices.

Not to mention LaMarcus Russell.

Apr-27-13  hangingenprise: wannabe: the traiders are actually getting high marks for an excellent draft. err could you remind me what that means? d'oh they are making decent choices.

perfidious: <Jim> Every article I have ever read on top NFL draft busts lists JaMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf as the clear-cut top two, though overall, they are far from unanimous as to the order.
Apr-27-13  Jim Bartle: I remember tackle Tony Mandarich was a huge bust, taken #2 ahead of Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders and Derrick Thomas.

A few years ago Oakland drafted very high a tackle named Robert Gallery, considered the best college offensive lineman in ten years. Haven't heard much about him since.

perfidious: <Jim>: Gallery had an eight-year career; hardly the stuff of Canton, but far from a total bust.
Apr-27-13  hangingenprise: wannabe: the traiders are actually having a draft!!
the god-father liked wilson a lot and the traiders actually make a great pick!

WannaBe: Imagine that, Al Davis must be rolling over.
Apr-28-13  hangingenprise: wannabe: now everyone knows how al senile davis ruined his team. the lions had a good draft, so say the experts and phony is worried. the traiders had an excellent draft- should their be reason for concern?
Apr-28-13  hangingenprise: travis is happy with his bears draft.
yikes their is reason for concern!

chancho: Lakers got swept under the rug.
Apr-29-13  NakoSonorense: Well, it could have been worse.
Apr-29-13  chessmoron: It is the worst of the worse. Getting the broom from the Spurs and Dwight Howard quite fittingly just quit and out of the Lakers organization.
