WannaBe: In case I forgot, congrats to them Lady Bruins. =)) U. Mich (69-63) won, but the last spread I saw was -6.5, so if you took UConn w/ spread, you got very lucky, if you bet on them U. Mich, I feel bad; the O/U was 148.5

WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: ¡Olé! ¡Olé! this is what I see for "¡Olé! ¡Olé!" (game of the day Mar-13-2026) I also know this issue have been around for a while, and it's not that important, in IT term, it is a level 'C', cosmetic fix. But I just wish to report it again. Can CG.com unify this ...

WannaBe: <FSR> March 11 is his birthday, and usually PoD is chosen from the birth date of the player. So unless CG.com decides to change the algorithm on how PoD is decided. We will randomly get "undesired" player(s).

Feb-09-14  technical draw: I don't remember the error msg but my main problem is the videos that stop after a few minutes then restart only to start again and then stop forever. This is basically on youtube but other sites that have video the same thing happens. I think I messed up my settings some how. Thanks for your help.
Feb-09-14  technical draw: This is truly crazy. All my youtube videos stop at dead center after some halting. But get this, I tried to get info on flash player problems and the search engines stops half-way! It seems like "flash" is the computers kryptonite. And if I continue tinkering my internet stops working. Why is the world against me?!

Feb-10-14  technical draw: <technical draw> I will examine this issue for you.

Remember it's an issue about YouTube not Playboy.

Feb-11-14  technical draw: Thank you Master Yu for your help. My problem is solved and you will not believe what was wrong. After checking everything that the internet suggested I stood back looked at the computer and said, I gotcha baby, you know I do! And I removed the keyboard and everything worked just fine. Apparently there was a stuck key (or unstuck) that just affected the downloading of videos.

Of course before I celebrate I'll test it with longer videos but I'm sure that was it because even a video that lasted a few seconds would stop and now I've played 5 10 minute videos with no problem.

Thanks for your help, I'll pass this info on to the engineers,,,,,TD

Feb-13-14  technical draw: <WannaBe> Bad news about these corvettes but good news on the link you gave me for delayed feedback. I have set it up for about a one second delay and it's working fine. The purpose is for language learning for advanced students.

The students must be able to read in the second language. The feedback takes the place of the teacher and the student by hearing his own words auto-corrects. Advancement should be unnoticeable and just like a child the student will be speaking the new language knowing without he's doing something special.

Right now I'm using it on known Hebrew texts. In the beginning it's a little tedious but once you get the hang of it it becomes fun. I think I should get a patent.

Feb-13-14  technical draw: Correction: above should read "speaking the new language without knowing he's doing something special."

Feb-16-14  NakoSonorense: So, the guy beat me 7 times or so. I won the first one after he fell for a trap I set up. He might have underestimated me, though. I lost a pawn on the second game and I could never recover. He beat me fair and square on the next 6 games.

We drew once, too, after we both ran out of time. I then won the last game, but he lost a B in a rather silly way.

Anyway, I played a few more games against other people. They're about the same level as me. Looks like they go there every Sat/Sun.

Feb-16-14  NakoSonorense: For what is worth, I don't think he is 2000. Sure, he beat me, but I didn't really feel crushed. All games were very close.

WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> Glad to hear you had a good time there. Shouldn't be that long a drive from your place to Santa Monica, plus you can stop by UCLA. =)

Up here, I meet up with <JimNorCal> at a coffee shop on Fridays for 10min games, or analyze games of interest.

But I've been busy lately, haven't been down there for 3 weeks.

Feb-17-14  NakoSonorense: I actually rode my bike (15 miles from my apartment). It's a nice little workout, plus I don't have to deal with parking.

I don't know JimNorCal, but his profile says he's over 1900? Man, I can already see all the blood!

WannaBe: <Nako> I was lucky in our very first game, I got a 'win', I offered a draw when he had 15 (or was it 10) seconds on the clock of a 10/0 game.

He declined and I 'won'. Since then, I'm paying for it. The other gentleman, Peter, he is good. Very good.

Next time you come up North, we (try to) meet Friday night 6PM at a coffee house.

I am sure, heck I guarantee that they'd love to play you in 10/0 game(s).

Feb-21-14  crawfb5: I won both games against <craigj> in the match against <Yeshua's Knights>.

Now that my rating is moving off the 1200 "starter" value, I will slow down.

But not before finishing off my two won games against the 1200 player from <Scotland Forever>. :-)

Feb-24-14  crawfb5: I won one game against <rabmctav> from <Scotland Forever> and will deliver mate on my next move in the other.
Feb-26-14  JimNorCal: <WannaBe> "I guarantee that they'd love to play you in 10/0 game(s)."

Confirmed :)
Everybody's welcome.
