WannaBe: In case I forgot, congrats to them Lady Bruins. =)) U. Mich (69-63) won, but the last spread I saw was -6.5, so if you took UConn w/ spread, you got very lucky, if you bet on them U. Mich, I feel bad; the O/U was 148.5

WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: ¡Olé! ¡Olé! this is what I see for "¡Olé! ¡Olé!" (game of the day Mar-13-2026) I also know this issue have been around for a while, and it's not that important, in IT term, it is a level 'C', cosmetic fix. But I just wish to report it again. Can CG.com unify this ...

WannaBe: <FSR> March 11 is his birthday, and usually PoD is chosen from the birth date of the player. So unless CG.com decides to change the algorithm on how PoD is decided. We will randomly get "undesired" player(s).

Dec-07-15  Shams: <JB> I think Sark is getting bad advice and I'd be surprised if the University offers anything more than a face-save if that. If I may speculate, Sark cooked his own goose when he signed the behavior agreement (soon to be violated) after his first embarrassing drunken rant.

Also this just looks like a man not wanting to take responsibility which isn't exactly what you want to see from an addict. If he continues down this course he might bounce himself out of coaching altogether.

Dec-07-15  Jim Bartle: Head football coach at a major university, one that is typically in the mix for a national championship, is like being CEO of a mid-sized corporation, and with hundreds of thousands of extremely passionate stockholders.

It's a tough job, and requires a lot of organizational and public relations skill. Football knowledge is only a part of it.

I don't know if it's always been that way. When I was in college John Ralston was a fairly relaxed guy. I didn't get the idea he worked 20 hours a day. He had a good staff, though, maybe they did a lot of the work.

USC has made some bad choices after Carroll. Kiffen was a disaster, as could have been predicted.

UCLA had excellent coaches for a long time: Prothro, Rodgers, Vermeil (just two years) and Donahue, who was great. Hasn't been so great since, and Rick Neuheisel was terrible.

Dec-12-15  Shams: <WannaBe> As it happens, <parisattack> has just persuaded me to take a look at E30 from the White side. If you see that car again, flag the driver down and get his email for me.

  jessicafischerqueen:

Thanks for the heads up <MannBee> this is a Ridley Scott film and I hadn't even heard of it yet!

I put it on my watch list.

Dec-14-15  NakoSonorense: <WannaBe> I finished reading "The Martian" by Andy Weir just a couple of weeks ago, but I still haven't seen the movie. Have you read the book and if so, how do you think it compares with the movie?

WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> Did not read the book. I vaguely remember it when it was released, and I saw it on Amazon.com, glanced at the summary/reviews, but had no interest.

<... how do you think it compares with the movie?> The book's better. =)

WannaBe: So... All day during work, there was words of hacked 'leak' trailer of Star Trek (reboot) 3, in German.

Then Paramount did release the 'official' trailer shortly. Just got a chance to view it. As an "old" time Trekkie (and I use that term in a very endearing way.)

I have very, very, very, very mixed emotion about it. Almost like Spock going through pon-farr.

Dec-15-15  chessmoron: It really looks like Fast and Furious meets Star Trek.

WannaBe: Freezing here, over-night low is 40. Gonna to be in Reno Sun-Tue for a little R&R and it's a low of 17 degrees over there.

Maybe I should move back to South Dakota and enjoy the balmy -20 degrees.

WannaBe: Ucla won against Univ. of Louis. Lafayette, 89-80. This would count as a 'loss' for the Bruins, 9-points? At home?!

WannaBe: Apparently someone in Houston decided to shutdown a major freeway (with help from friends) just so he can propose to his girlfriend. And have it posted all over the 'Net.

According to him, that's her favourite view of the city.

That, my friends, is called "BRILLIANT"!!
