WannaBe: Virtual break even so far for this week's football and book makers:

http://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/i...

Most interesting 4 items are at the end of article, especially that Northwestern bet. But here's a snipped of the fourth item:

<--The over/under on the Marshall-Pittsburgh game opened as high as 71 earlier in the week. It dropped 13 points at some shops by Saturday's kickoff and closed at 58. The total (Pittsburgh 43, Marshall 27) ended up at 70.>

13 pts drop?!?? Wow.

Oct-03-16  Shams: <WannaBe> UW Huskies are only an eight-point favorite next week at Oregon. That's a max-unit play right there. Mortgage your house, your car, your girlfriend!

WannaBe: For future reference, if you upgrade the kernel of a Linux system (in this case Ubuntu), you need to also install the new version's "extra".

Or else, your keyboard, mouse and in my case network won't work. Why this isn't packaged into the kernel itself, I don't understand. Logically, wouldn't it make sense?

Wasted 20 minutes of my time. But learned something new! =)

saffuna: No, no, no, no. That is just not acceptable.

You have to post an excuse for each game. Three different ones.

Oct-07-16  NakoSonorense: <Jim>, legit excuses are: beer #1, beer #2, and beer #3.

Who let the Dawgs out?

Woof! Woof! Woof!

Tequila!

Wait one minuto...I did that last week for the Stanford shellacking.

Never mind, then.

saffuna: Oregon's on the receiving end of what they used to give everybody. Team Nike has hit hard times.
Oct-09-16  Shams: Unfortunately WSU creamed Stanford too last night...Cougars aren't bad but that is going to take a fair amount of luster off what was UW's best win.

saffuna: Right, Stanford has gotten hammered badly two weeks in a row. Seems they don't have a quarterback, at a college which has had several all-time greats.

A couple of my relatives must really be suffering. One has lived and died with Stanford sports for more than fifty years. I remember seeing him right after a surprisingly close loss to USC in 1968, when OJ Simpson, trapped behind the line, threw a pass which led to the winning FG. I thought he would be pleased that it was so close (and the team was young) after getting smashed several years in a row.

Oct-09-16  Boomie: Stanford has an injury depleted secondary. Against Air Leach and one of the best QBs in all of Christendom, that is a recipe for disaster.

Great week for Washington sports.
