WannaBe: Looks like iOS 11 have the same problem as iOS 9, iOS 10 and possibly iOS 8.

Battery drain. You'd think those highly paid engineers at Apple have the battery problem solved by now.

WannaBe: Orville, last night's episode was quite nice, cameo was also a kicker, had me laughing when I saw the face.

Now Bortus is having marital problems, will be hilarious in future episodes. (Not going to give anything away for anyone who have not yet watched the episode, or not seen any of this show)

Star Trek Discovery, nice that CBS have decided to go back to an orchestral opening, without giving too much away, I thought episode one's desert opening scene was a bit cheesy.

Be very interesting to see how this show will progress, CBS is sticking to the original timeline and Discovery takes place after Capt Archer (Star Trek Enterprise) and before Capt Kirk.

WannaBe: On Sept 19, Apple released iOS 11, a week later iOS 11.0.1 was released, and now Apple have released 11.0.2 to fix iPhone 8 crackle issue:

http://money.cnn.com/2017/10/03/tec...

My question, (as usual), do Apple have/hire Quality Assurance Engineers?

This is not a security over-sight/patch, or a bug that is hidden deep in the code that hackers can exploit, did anyone at Apple actually use/test iPhone 8?????

WannaBe: <Check It Out> I have LG Aristo, bought from T-Mobile for $125.00 and it came with $100 T-Mobile account credit.

(So, about $25.00 before taxes and shipping, the special offer was only available online).

Check It Out: Thanks for the feedback. I've heard of LG, but only considered iPhone. I've heard about Samsung and android of course but I don't know if I'd like them. I tend to stick with what I know so I'll probably go with another iPhone but not 8. Probably X. Is that out yet? You are right, they are pricey. I need something I could make worthy YouTube videos on, and something with more storage space. The music on my current phone has taken up every inch of real estate. I was hoping with your endles tech knowledge and cunning <wabbit> instincts you could give me some advice. I'm not trying to pinch pennies, I'm just considering something other than iphony.

  WannaBe: <Check It Out>

Android Pros: Cheaper. iPhone X will cost you at least 1K (64G storage), or $1,149 for 256G.

Android, you can remove the back covers and increase your storage capacity.

Common charging cable. Don't need to buy expensive Lightening charging cable from Apple Store.

Headphone Jack, (new) iPhones have no jacks, they want you to buy Air Buds.

Some Android models already have wireless charging.

iPhone Pros: Better camera, this was proven to me during the last eclipse and the pictures taken with iPhones (regardless of model) was better than Android (regardless of maker, LG, Samsung, Nokia...)

WannaBe: Saw Star Trek Discovery Episode 3 last night, couldn't stop giggling every time tribble makes a sound.

(That's got to be added in later in sound effects, otherwise if I'm one of the actors, I wouldn't be able to speak my lines... Be giggling too hard)

Discovery have a much, much larger shuttle bay than Enterprise, even though the show's timeline is before Kirk.

(Human) Transport within Discovery, this is/was not possible, according to traditional time line. (Details, details...)

Discovery's number is NCC-1031, vs Kirk's NCC-1701, Next Generation (Capt. Picard) NCC-1701D, Voyager (Capt. Janeway) is NCC-74656

WannaBe: <Trais Bickle> I usually am Pale Ale guy, Sierra Nevada seem to be popular in NorCal.

At places that do not carry S.N., I go with American Styled Lager, a.k.a. Bud Light.

My personal fav beer is Firestone Pale, California 31. (CA is the 31st state, hence the name)

Firestone also make one called Merlin, it was called Velvet Merlin, but have since renamed to Merlin Nitro, hint of chocolate, very very smooth.

Aren't you glad you asked?! =))
