2010 World Univ (women's) chess championship
Compiled by gauer
--*--

<1st task: It is very possible for the tournament to get rejected, perhaps even if the games present % of 82 could be boosted to about 90-95% (or maybe more, I hadn't checked yet to see which, if any, of the twic source games are missing or were screened from the pgn upload utility process of having players of ~2200 or better at some point mostly in the database).

2nd task: if the collection is wanted as a tournament, then also constructing a crosstable would be a priority on one of my forthcoming weekends. For this type of 9 round swiss event with a large % of games (larger than 80% or 4/5 players with full, accurate scores on a leaderboard, on average) better displayed in a leaderboard, or perhaps mere list of names (I personally don't mind either, especially when the games present % is very high, but the former (leaderboard style) becomes more accurate as the % approaches 100%)

3rd task: If I construct a table of my own, I might build it in a style of showing (maybe by starring (*) games in the crosstable whose game is missing or cannot be found, or might not qualify for the database something like a link from the crosstable pairing by round of a row/column, and perhaps over to a shortcut to the relevant game id, perhaps using html to display a 0-1, 1/2-1/2 or 1-0 shortcut overtop of the game of where the pointer is pointing to on the table, and a URL link to the gid in the browser bottom frame panel. Is this a decent style to aim for, does anyone know a "cheat-way" (it would take <me> a while to do <this> carefully) to do this efficiently, or would it even work well for those types of events?! Or maybe not having URL links in a fixed-width crosstable font also has some drawbacks that I do not anticipate, either...

4th task: if necessary, I would consider organizing all head games by round, and perhaps also by "round1 DOT table1..m", "round2 DOT table1..m" ... "roundn DOT table1..m" order if it would solve the problem of keeping the tid list in a similar round-by-round or round.table order. If it would do this by default (ie when all/most the round.tables seem to be present and correct) anyways, I may skip this part. If this isn't guaranteed to solve the tid games list ordering problem (especially when not 100% of the games might be present), then I could consider ignoring the step of organizing the collection in some order as well.

This event seems to be related to Game Collection: 2010 World Univ chess championship - but were the pairings done by normal pairings, or by team (ie by players of a particular sex playing on a team of a particular table for perhaps a country or school?! - not sure about this, only speculating here...) pairings, in this case? Further research might want to be done to see how this was organized. Please mention at my forum if you can find other games or improvements.>

The 11th in the series was held in September at Zurich, probably a 9-round event and approximately 39 players. 38/2 games/round x 9 rounds = 171 games, maximum. http://www.theweekinchess.com/chess... reports 170/171 total were in his pgn file.

8/9 games in database: Guliskhan Nakhbayeva , Tamara Cheremnova , Mona Salman Mahini , Madina Davletbayeva

7/9 games in database: Nina Hemmatizadeh , Pauline van Nies

6/9 games in database: Liria Caetano Garcia , Homa Alavi

4/9 games in database: Sarah N Longson , Ashanti K Rajapaksha , Yordanka Schlamberger

3/9 games in database: Maria Heinatz , Hannah Dale , Janine Martinez , Shanila Gunawardena , Ana Margarida Ferreira

2/9 games in database: Iin Dwijayanti Kadek , Himeshi P de Silva

1/9 game in database: L G A Liyanagedara

It appears that many of the players' games who did not have all 9 games in the upload were being screened on not having achieved a rating of 2200+ by the time of the tournament, in the case that their opponent for the particular round did not also achieve 2200+ at some point up to that time.
