Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-07-09  Katu: I sometimes play this gambit, even with White, with reversed colors, with a 1. h4 tempo.

With Black I had some success with it:

1. d4 Nf6
2. c4 d5
3. cxd4 c6
4. dxc6 e5(??)
5. cxb7 Bxb7
6. dxe5 Qxd1
7. Kxd1 Ne4
8. Ke1 Na6
9. e3 0-0-0
10. f3 Bb4+
11. Ke2 Nc5
12. fxe4 (whoa, tripled pawns!) Ba6+
13. Kf2 Nxe4+
14. Kf3 Bb7
15. Be2 Be1
16. Kf4 g5+
17. Kf5 Nf2
18. Nf3 Be4+
19. Kxg5 Rhg8+
20. Kf6 Rg6+
21. Kxf7 Bd5+
22. e6 Bxe6+
23. Ke7 Rd7+
24. Ke8 Rg8#

I got the idea from Kadas Gabor 's games (sadly, there are no games in CG with his opening named after him -1. h4)

Aug-20-09  wanabe2000: I recently played White against the Tan Gambit which I had never seen. Play went:

5.e3(N)(Alekhine vs Tan went 5.Nf3)...Bg4
6.Be2 Bxe2
7.Qxe2 e5
8.dxe5 Nxe5
9.Nc3 Bb4
10.Bd2 0-0
11.Rd1 Rc8
12.Nf3 Qd6
13.0-0 Nd3?? (when Black blunders)
14.Nb5! and wins
