May-24-06  spirit: me thinks Salov should have tried 52...Qxc4, and then GAZZA not suspecting the impending perpetual might have played 53.b6. Me thinks 52...Qc1 was one move premature.

In Kasparov vs Salov, 1992 , White plays 44. Rf1-f7+! because the rook is defended THROUGH the e7-rook by the d7-rook. As pointed out by <notyetagm> this is used to double the queen and rook on the 7th.
