Kibitzer's Corner
May-25-04  d4Nf6Bg5: does 21 Nxd4 work?
May-26-04  Cyphelium: <d4Nf6Bg5> Yes, it seems so to me.

21. Nxd4 Qxc4+ 22. Ne2 and now 22.- Nc3 seem to lead nowhere for black after 23. Bf4! Qxe2+ 24. Kg1, for example 24.- Nfe4 25. Bxd6+ Ke8 26. Bc5 or 26. h3.

Also, after 22.- Ke8 23. Bf4!? Rd3 24. Qxa7 Nc3 25. Qa8+ Ke7 (25.- Rd8 26. Qc6+) 26. Qb7+ Rd7 (26.- Kd8 27. Qc7+ Qxc7 28. Bxc7+ Kxc7 29. Nxc3 Rxc3 should win rather easily for white) 27. Qf3, white is still a rook up.

Jun-28-20  Atking: 13...Bg4! almost "refutes" White opening. The point is after 15...Bc5, 16.Qe5+ is bad 16...QxQ 17.NxQ Bxf2#
