Nov-14-13  zydeco: Maybe 16....c5 and if 17.e4 cxd4 18.Nxd4 Bc5.

Black's problem is that he can't play 20....fxe6 because 21.Bd3 cuts the queen off from the c6 knight.

Nov-14-13  zydeco: 39....Rf6 seems like a better defense.

dernier loup de T: Look this little "finesse", zydeco: 21.Bd3 in your variant is not so effective because the Queen can go to d5 square; while 21.Rc4!! does not allow this move to be useful: if then 21..Qd5, after the exchange of queens, the Nc6 is really lost, and that without any compensation...
Dec-27-16  zydeco: <dernier loup de T> Good point!

plang: 15..Rfd8 had been played twice previously originally in Taimanov-Kotov 1953 Zurich Candidates Tournament (White won); 15..Rfb8 was new. Bezgodov was critical of 16..Nc6 recommending 16..c5 instead (as mention in above post), 36..Rc8 would have been a tougher defense.
