Her pieces are not coordinated and her King is under strong pressure from Black's Queen and Bishops. Also, Black has threats such as ...Bxe4 or ...Bd1 (attacking f3). So if not 59. Rb8+, then what can White play to hold the position together? |

With them playing for different countries there are some interesting possibilities, but Mariya will have to move up some to play first board for Ukraine, though she has passed Ushenina and Zhukova recently. I expect that we would see Anna M. vs Lahno in a national team showdown. |
