Jul-14-08  ToTheDeath: I guess no one told Spassky the Petroff is drawish.
Jul-15-08  brankat: Nice "Zugwang" in the final position.

  tpstar: 1) 39 ... Kb8? 40. Rd8#

2) The Nb2 has no safe moves.

3) 39 ... a4/Rf2/Re2 40. Rh4 threatening 41. Rh8#, then any Black Rook retreat to the back rank loses the Nb2.

Sep-02-23  Allderdice83: 11 ... Qe6 appears to be Black's first mistake, setting up a possible fork. Black should castle. 16 ... Na6 is another mistake. Black's eager to get that knight re-developed, but it's paramount to stop White's d6, so Black should play 16 ... Bd6. Stockfish actually likes 18. d6 rather than trading first. 24. gxh5 is a mistake (24. f3 or 24. h3 is better), but so is 24 ... Bxf2? (24 ... Nc7 is better) which opens up a file for White's rooks. Once White gets a rook to the 7th, it's pretty much curtains.
