Jul-15-07  zev22407: And on 23)B-f2 B-e2, Q moves Bxd2 winning
Apr-03-13  Novirasputin: I would add that it wins because the subsequent threat after Bxd2 is Qf1 mate so Qñ2 does nothing
Apr-08-15  A.T PhoneHome: Another scintillating game by Boris Vasilievich! Mate is 23.Bf2 Be2 24.Qc2 Bxd2 and ...Qf1#

offramp: The Old Pashin wouldn't have lost this.
Apr-08-15  A.T PhoneHome: <offramp> I see what you're intending there. :P haha
Jun-16-17  George Roberts: It is surprising that the same game can be played by amateurs because many white player don't study openings. I have won several offhand games with the same moves. The hard part is to figure it out for the first time as Spassky did.

Jonathan Sarfati: Apparently this is the first game with the rook lift 17...Re6, hence the name "Spassky variation", now a main line of the Marshall.

Sally Simpson: 17...Re6 appeared in Tal vs Krogius, 1962 and was probably played sooner.

  Jonathan Sarfati: Good pickup.
Jun-27-20  edubueno: Novopashin se equivoca al no tomar el Caballo en d5, después del error 20 f4? viene el Huracán Spassky.
