Dec-21-03  PinkPanther: Is this the game where Tal resigned after black's flag fell, only to have his wife come to his rescue by bringing it to his attention?
Jun-30-06  Avion: Yep....I think so.
Jul-01-06  Kangaroo: This was not one of the best games played by Tal: in the final position, had Black one more second, the continuation might have been <40 <... Rxc4> 41. <Nxc4 Bxf2> > ... and the result should be read as <0:1>
Sep-01-06  mack: Did Tal ever go through with his threat to publish one of his simul wins as Tal-Adamski?
Sep-01-06  Rocafella: Someone got slap happy because of their yoghurts here
Mar-08-08  hitman84: <Pink Panther>Yes. Tal was awarded the point because the flag had fallen before Tal resigned.
Sep-15-10  ForeverYoung: Tal's wife scored this point! In his book Tal says that his wife had been counting the moves and communicated to him that his opponent lost on time. The arbiter should have been on the watch since both players were in time pressure, especially black since he gave up recording the game around move 25.
Mar-19-11  wordfunph: game sidelight..

During the tournament he almost lost his unbeaten run against Adamski, but as he stretched his hand out in resignation his wife suddenly stepped in to demand why the arbiter had not recorded Adamski's loss on time. The game was eventually awarded to Tal after quite a lot of fuss.

Oct-14-13  savagerules: Needless to say Tal is dead lost at the end but with 'outside assistance' (his wife standing by the board counting the moves) got the win. He said in his book Adamski quit writing his moves down on move 25! because of time trouble and then added 2 fake moves while reconstructing his scoresheet to make it seem he made more than 40 moves. He also said he was irritated at Adamski asking him for a draw before the game started and when Adamski made another draw offer during the game Tal blundered a pawn out of irritation and ended up getting a lost game.

AylerKupp: <wordfunph> Hmmm. My copy of "The Magic of Mikhail Tal" by Joe Gallager, 2000, Gloucester Publishing, doesn't have this game against Adamski and only one game from 1974 (against Petrosian). The games coverage only really starts in 1975.

Do you have a different version of the book?

Oct-14-13  savagerules: 'The Life and Games of Mikhail Tal' by Mikhail Tal himself p. 472 I'll trust Tal's version though Adamski probably was justifiably upset about the interference from Tal's wife and the arbiter's decision to award Tal the game.
