Fusilli: Interesting game. One wonders why Tarjan played 13 Kh1 instead of the more natural-looking Kh2. He'll pay the price for the misplacement of his King on move 28.
Mar-12-21  carpovius: Resuming White's boring game. Opening and middlegame: White's very timid play. Ending: Tal with two extra pawns. Resign.

Only one thing seems strange that the game has as many as 40 moves. Tal should be lazy that day))

AylerKupp: A personal anecdote. I first met James Tarjan in the early 1960s, probably 1963, at the Student Chess Club in Los Angeles sponsored by Jacqueline Piatigorsky. I was 3 years older (still am!) and had an "enterprising" style of chess playing and even then my favorite player was, of course, Tal. I remember going over one of my games with Tarjan and, knowing who my favorite player was, he remarked (referring to Tal) "He is your hero".

Oh, what I would have given to have been able to switch places with him for this game! Although the game would not have lasted as many moves as this game did.
