Mar-16-05 | | Dogzilla: Great!
17...Ke8 18. Nd6+ and no matter where the black king goes--d8, e7, or f8--19. Nxb7+ wins the queen. |
|
Jun-28-05 | | bumpmobile: <Dogzilla (nice reference to Dav Pilkey by the way)>17...Ke8 18. Bxd8+ wins the queen as well, doesn't it? Though using the knight fork does it without losing a piece :-) |

Jun-28-05 | | supertimchan: I like 5..e6. Not helping white to develop his pieces by 6.bxc3. |
|
Aug-25-05 | | EmperorAtahualpa: Instead of 6...g6, Black should have played 6...Nc6. |
|
Mar-05-06 | | aazqua: 8 f6??? How about Qe7 and then after d4 bg7? Why is this horrendous game even in the database? Notable Game?? Ridiculous. 9 Ke7? Patzer. |
|
Jan-01-07 | | seventhirty: Girl with black pieces is current Junior Eerope Champion (U-18). So aazqua, who's patzer here? |
|
Sep-08-07 | | Silverstrike: <aazqua> 8...Qe7 9.Ba3 Looks quite strong. No need to get aggressive. |
|
Dec-13-07 | | PAWNTOEFOUR: black was just outclassed here........no need for the term 'patzer'...and if you're looking for a treat, watch gm lahno play chess on playchess......she's fantastic, just ask some dude named omnislash |
|
Oct-30-08 | | aazqua: I'll stand by patzer. This is a horrible game by black. There just no excuse for play this bad. By the way, she was 13 when she played this. Maybe that goes some way towards explaining why she sucked. |

Stockfish 16 makes the same ply but Black declines the Bishop: 12. Bh6
(12. Bh6 (1.Bh6 Qxb5 2.Bxg7 f5 3.Bxh8 fxg4 4.Qf6+ Ke8 5.Bg7 cxd4 6.Qf8+ Kd7 7.0-0-0 Kc7 8.Rxd4
b6 9.Qe7+ Nd7 10.Rhd1 Kb7 11.Rxd7+ Bxd7 12.Rxd7+ Ka6 13.Bd4 e5 14.Qa3+ Qa5
) +6.17/43 95)
score for White + 6.17 depth 43.
If I force SF to accept the Bishop:
12. .. Bxh6
13. Qxf6+ (13. Qxf6+ (1.Qxf6+ Kd6 2.dxc5+ Kxc5 3.Qe5+ Kb6 4.Rb1 Rd8 5.Bd3+ Kc6 6.Qxa5 b6
7.Qe5 Rxd3 8.cxd3 Bf8 9.Qe4+ Kc7 10.Qxa8 Nc6 11.d4 Be7 12.0-0 Bb7 13.Qe8
Bg5 14.Qxe6 Bc8 ) +11.44/34 298)
score for White +11.44 depth 34. |

Feb-06-24 | | King.Arthur.Brazil: I tried 12. Nxf6 or a4, but it doesn't seem to work. Really, 12. Bh6! is a fantastic move! and I didn't find it. The simple line: 12...Kf7? 13. Bxg7 Kxg7 14. Qxf6+ Kg8 15. Nh6# shows it. Black has no good reply. |

 | | Sally Simpson: Good game, the winner went on to be a GM. Black missed the BH6 idea thinking the hit on the b5 Bishop bought time. The Queen when on d8 was was covering f6 so Bh6 could have been answered with Kf7. Take out how good Bh6 is and you have on the surface a typical junior game. A Monkey Bum Attack. Bc4, Ng5 and Qf3 hitting f7 in the first few moves and Black sending their Queen off on a material hunt whilst the majority of their pieces are still at home and their King a sitting target. But this game is deeper than that. Quite instructive. Good POTD. |

 | | Sally Simpson: I went back to this to look at my original idea before settling on 12.Bh6 click for larger view12.Bd3 going for a double Rook sac.
12. Bd3 Qxc3+ 13. Ke2 (Now the King and Queen are Knight fork targets so Nc6 hitting d4 may figure.) 13... Qxa1 14. Bh6 Qxh1 15. Bxg7 f5 That move looks forced 16.Bxh8 Then it got all messy. click for larger viewQueen + active 3 bits v Queen + 3 sleeping bits but Nc6 is coming. The Q+3 method is how I figure things, Rooks and minor pieces are all the same with the Queens on - things change when the ladies disappear then I give Rooks the nudge. |
