rndapology: And this one shows off the rather obvious result of capturing the lone bishop.

rochade18: There are at least two good black moves: 1..e5! (attacks d4 and f4) and 6..Ke8!? (good square for the king)

Knight13: I say 4. Qxe4?? is a blunder.

InspiredByMorphy: Greco thinks about development above all in this opening. 3.d4 starts an early attack but he chooses to continue to develop with 3.Bc4 . He also preferred it over 3.d4 playing against the Philidor defence.

tiburon92: this game is hilarious

DeepBlade: Black develops its Queen way too early, moves it twice. Violates the beginner's rules. Of course White isnt sleeping, it castles so Qxe4 doesnt give check. As you can see the Queen trap works if black takes the Bishop. But even if it doesnt, White can develop quick, by treathning the Queen. Black is game over.

Chopin: I can see a lot of beginners falling for this trap. The e4 pawn looks tempting. I doubt a beginner will see the bishop check on F7 and then the fork.

KingG: <I can see a lot of beginners falling for this trap.> I don't think even the worst beginner would play moves like 2...Qf6, 3...Qg6.

| Chopin: KingG <I don't think even the worst beginner would play moves like 2...Qf6, 3...Qg6.> I want to introduce you to Fossan, he might fall for this trap. In fact when I was first learning how to play chess, I fell for the same trap that Fossan fell for.
I played against a player over the internet who was mated in 3 moves: 1)f4 e5
2)g3 exf
3)gxf Qh4 mate
You'll be amazed what some players will fall for.

DeepBlade: Why did NN play so poor, he could play 2. ...Qe7 right away.

blingice: 2..Qf6 is actually called Greco Defense in the Chessmaster opening book.
