Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-25-04  sneaky pete: A hitherto unobserved classic. I've seen roughly the same combination recently on this site in a slightly different similar position, but of course can't remember the name of the game (I like it like that).
Nov-27-04  Ziggurat: A similar game:

Adolf Anderssen vs Max Lange, 1859

Apr-16-12  YoungEd: Anderssen vs. Dufresne 1851 is exactly the same through the first 13 moves, when Anderssen resigned.
May-08-17  zanzibar: What does "FRG theme" mean?

perfidious: <zed: What does "FRG theme" mean? >

Thematic correspondence event held in West Germany.

May-08-17  zanzibar: Thanks <perf>, you're certainly right.

I was somehow stuck trying to connect FRG with some obscure opening name.

I wonder exactly what the "theme" really was?

(Maybe the Bird's variation of the Spanish?)

FSR: Pretty sad. This is a correspondence game, in what I suppose was a thematic tournament for Bird's Opening, White falls into a trap known for over a century, and he fails to play the known refutation 10.Qe1! when White is the one who wins.
