Jul-08-06  Ulhumbrus: <Cyphelium> I begin to think that instead of 27...Rh6, the plan of ...Nh5 and ...Nf4 might have been better, with perhaps the manoeuvre ...Be7-d8-c7 omitted as well, so as to produce an attack, with colours reversed, similar to that in the exhibition game which Bobby Fischer won against Ulf Andersson at Siegen.
Jul-08-06  asip87: omg! vishy lost, never played it my mind.. it might affected lotsa rate droping...goshh
Sep-01-06  Rocafella: 6.c4 is to prevent b4 by black on the 8th move?
Dec-15-06  mrjoshherman: I'm just a beginner; I can't see why charbonneau wins after 42. ... RxQ. Any help?
Dec-15-06  michael104: 42 ... Rxe4 43 Bf6+ Qg7 44 Rb8+ Bxb8 45 Rd8++
Aug-12-07  jmrulez2004: Let us not forget that chess is a piece of art. There are always times where a certain player can be in his prime and score a definite win on a game. yes, anand did get himself caughtup in this situation.,but point is.....ratings always remain not 100% in par with a players maximum full abiulity. a 2500 player can always be given the benefit of the doubt of giving a play or performance at a 2200-2800 level.:D
Aug-12-07  King mega: wow...never see anand losing to a noob.
Aug-12-07  RandomVisitor: 35...Nf3 36.gxf3 Rh3 seems to be best.

An Englishman: Good Morning: Curious looking game. It's not often that you see both players in full retreat at the same time as they try to reposition their forces. Compare the position after move 14 with the position after move 22.
Aug-12-07  THE pawn: <King mega> The same «noob» could kick your butt while doing his laundry, eyes closed hanging by a hair on a helicopter while reciting the first 100 digits of the symbol pi, dancing at the same time.
Aug-12-07  lentil: I think anand missed 41. Ng3!!, which uncovers protection of the first rank. after charbonneau finds that move, it's over.

  fm avari viraf: I think, Anand's attack boomeranged at the end since 43...Rxe4 44.Bf6+ Qg7 45.Rb8+ Bxb8 & 46.Rd8#. A wonderful game by Pascal.
Aug-12-07  keres777: Amazing!!!... giving up all those pawns for a brilliant defensive attack. I would have called this game : "Pascal's Wager!"
Aug-12-07  RandomVisitor: White could have tried for a win through a different route: after 30...Bb7

Aug-13-07  kevin86: An odd game-through much of the first half-many white pieces are on the first rank. In fact, after move 28,FIVE white pieces are on the first row and NONE in their original position 2RRQN1K.

White,in fact wins the game just a few turns later-with back row threats against black's king.

Oct-18-07  Udit Narayan: LMAO <king mega>!!!!!!!

I guess Ladoo was simply off form here.

35...g3?

"Vishy admitted after the game that he panicked at this point, probably unhappy with the course of events."

- GM Pascal Charbonneau

Nov-07-11  Garech: Fantastic game; classic hedgehog except it was black who was provoked - and punished - for a kingside advance.

Aug-22-21  Messiah: This game is one of the biggest upsets in competitive chess history, really nice game by Charbonneau!
