Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-29-07  ChessNe1: strange game. sokolov couldn't see the imminent mate?
Jan-30-07  ianD: How to lose a 1/2 point to a player 100 elo points below you.

I am suprised he messed this cheapo.

I suspect he was happy to settle for an early shower!!

Jan-30-07  Karpova: <Eric Schiller: I have a bit more to add on Kuzubov-Sokolov. Ivan didn't expect Kuzubov to wimp out with the drawing line, since the f3 line is topical. But of course Black has no reasonable altewrnatives. He didn't mind the easy draw with Black, but couldn't understand why White didn't try for a win.>
Jan-30-07  weisyschwarz: How was White going to try for a win?
Jan-31-07  Karpova: 7.f3 instead of 7.Bxc4 forcing a draw perhaps
Feb-08-07  ChessNe1: <Karpova> after 7.f3, then what? you think black wants to lose the pawn on c4?
Feb-08-07  DrawMachine: Sokolov saw it, of course he did. His opponent didn't leave the queen hanging by accident, if he didn't know the line from theory anyway. He wanted a quick draw.
Jun-03-14  Sebastian88: A identical game is here: H Stevic vs Z Jovanovic, 2008
