Jonathan Sarfati: Thanx <Benzol>. It's not often that White can be overcome so decisively.

fredthebear: 3.f4!? is called the Kucharkowski-Meybohm Gambit.

10.Bc3 to break the pin on the d2-pawn is well met by 10...Ne4, threatening Qh4+.

Jonathan Sarfati: Stockfish 12 rates the ♙ return 4...♘c6 slightly better than holding the ♙ with 4...f6.

10... ♕e7 was a bit more forcing than the game choice, e.g. 9...♕e7 10.♗d4 (10.♗c3 ♘d5 11.♗xb4 ♕h4+ 12.g3 ♕xb4 13.O-O ♗h3 14.♖f2 ♕b2) 10...♘e4 11.O-O c5 12.♗b2 ♘xd2 13.♘xd2 ♕xe3+ 14.♔h1 ♕xd2) with good compensation for the extra ♙s.

10.♗c3 is indeed met by 10... ♘e4 11.♗xb4 ♕h4+ 12.g3 ♘xg3 13.hxg3 ♕xh1+ 14.♗f1 ♖e4! 15.♗c3 ♗g4 16.♕c1 ♕h2 with forced mate in a few moves.

White's best was 10.♗f4 ♘d5 11.O-O ♘xf4 12.♖xf4 ♗d6 13.♖f2 but Black still has a clear advantage with B-pair and better P structure.

The computer approves of all Black's moves from 10...♖xe3. 13...♕d5 not the only move to win, but still about -4 if White had surrendered his ♕ (14.cxb4 ♖e8 15.♕xe8+ ♘xe8 16.O-O h5 17.♘c3). The nominal material balance is even, 2♖ v ♕♙, but White's pieces are uncoordinated and will drop some ♙s.

OhioChessFan: Wow, what a beatdown. I agree with <invas> about the ugly Bb2. I guess White is already in trouble.
