Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-29-07  jefflissa: I like 37...Qg2 better. must be a typo or time trouble?
Nov-30-07  kasp: I Agree... 37...Qxg2# is mate
Nov-30-07  bachus: Incredible endgame... As far as I understand, white must prevent the black king from reaching the a8 square, but I'm not sure black didn't make any mistake... perhaps 108...Kg8 was the mistake? I can't believe black played the endgame perfectly and still lost.
Nov-30-07  Eyal: That's a theoretical draw - Black's mistake was 110...Kg8??; 110...Kg6 is a draw, because Black gains a vital tempo by attacking the bishop - 111.Kc6 Kf5= (if White can't block the route of the black king to a8, there's no way to make progress after winning the 'a' pawn).
Nov-30-07  Boomie: The position after 89. Kxf7 is a tablebase draw.
Nov-30-07  acirce: Compare the famous Korchnoi vs Karpov, 1978
