Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-28-16  Virgil A: 5.d4 best move.
Aug-28-16  goodevans: Nothing deep here. White just played badly.
Aug-28-16  morfishine: The catchy game title from the NFL misses the mark since it implies even heavy underdogs can win against the best teams

Here the underdog is overwhelmed by the GM

Better would've been "Marinara played like he was sauced"

...and call it a day

perfidious: One might say that White got smashed eight ways from Sunday in this nightmare.

Exactly.

The pun is also very Kornee

Aug-28-16  Virgil A: That's a good one.
Aug-28-16  varishnakov: I agree that the title implies the lower-rated player won. Very confusing.
Aug-28-16  cunctatorg: "Any given Sunday" is the title of a brilliant Oliver Stone's movie (1994?!) where Al Pacino delivers a memorable -and even lovely- performance!!...

Annnnnnd Black chose a different mate in two.

Aug-29-16  Moszkowski012273: Oh yeah? Enlighten me. 28...Ree2 29.Rxb7...
Aug-29-16  Moszkowski012273: Actually don't worry about I'll answer my own question. The mate comes about 30 moves later after the Bishop is won. So mate in two or mate in 30 are the options.
