Eyal: <Today's press conference, to be published later at ChessVibes, is highly recommended. A well-spoken, modest and honest Sergey Movsesian explains his nice Black victory over Ivanchuk, and one quote should be mentioned right away. The fourth-seeded player in Wijk aan Zee wasn't sure about his e6-e5 move after the opening, about which he commented: "I have to check how strong players play this position."> (http://www.chessvibes.com/reports/c...)

Marmot PFL: <"I have to check how strong players play this position."> Just ask Kasparov.
This game won the Sokolov prize.
Jan-24-09   hovik2003: He shouldn't be so modest about it after all he is rated 2751(even little higher than Aronian!), and in this tournament he CRUSHED Adams(so aweful for An Englishman!), Morozevich and now his next victim is great Chucky.

P.S
(capital letters used to remind to all those who don't play chess at all and are blaming Chucky on time loss!)

Marmot PFL: White is probably lost after 24.Bxe4? when black takes over this important diagonal.

Eyal: It still remains to be seen how well Movsesian is going to do in the near future, but if he does manage to establish himself in the top-10 it's going to be a pretty rare case of someone getting there as late as the age of 30+.
Jan-24-09   Aspirador: I used to be a really huge Ivanchuk fan, but my enthusiasm slowly fades away after such performances. I mean, he is a professional chess player and as such he should analyze his weaknesses and work on them. I'm sure that this "time trouble illness" could be improved with a little training and self discipline. That's the difference between him and people like Fischer, Kasparov: they would have tried to eliminate such weaknesses immediately.
Jan-24-09   shr0pshire: <Aspirador> A few years ago Kasparov characterized Chucky as something to the extent of: Chucky plays like Chucky, sometimes he is unbeatable, and other times he beats himself.

As one who follows his games, he ebbs and flows. It is just his nature. My games tend to be the same way, so I can appreciate him all the more.
