Mar-03-10  reti: I do not understand all the tactical threats in this game.
Mar-03-10  ruelas007: you are not the first, well technically yes but ... well it doesn't really matter but i saw this game earlier and the most puzzling part is the final position, can anybody explain?
Mar-04-10  rangek: <reti> With 16. Nxe5 dxe5 17. Rxe5, White clears the E -file of pawns to allow the Rook to attack the pinned knight. If 17.. Re8 then simply 18. Qe2 and 18.. Nhg8 fails to 19. Bxg8 while 18.. Nhf5 then simply 19. Bf7 Rf8 20. Bxe7 Nxe7 21. Rxe7, leaving White two pawns up for the good.

<ruelas007> In the final position Black is piece down for a pawn, so it's logical to resign.

Mar-10-10  ruelas007: lol i must be getting old...

tpstar: Sharp game. I suspect Black missed 22. Be3 as 22 ... Rxe2? Re8# loses on the spot.

Black telegraphed the ... f5 break (9 ... Ng4, 10 ... Kh8, 11 ... Nh6) before completing development.
