Jul-24-10  TugasKamagong: The missing moves seem to be 32...Rxg1 33. Rxg1
Jul-24-10  whiteshark: <TugasKamagong: <The missing moves seem to be 32...Rxg1 33. Rxg1>> Yes thanks, then it makes sense.
Jul-24-10  zanshin: <TugasKamagong> appears to be correct. Here's the game score from the official site:

1. Nf3 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 d6 5. d4 O-O 6. h3 e5 7. d5 Nbd7 8. Bg5 h6 9. Be3 Nc5 10. Nd2 a5 11. g4 c6 12. a3 a4 13. Be2 Bd7 14. h4 cxd5 15. cxd5 Rc8 16. g5 hxg5 17. hxg5 Nh7 18. Jul-24-10  ounos: I wondered who typed though the completely arbitrary <36. R4g2>, gee. That would be the point where one would realize the mistake, but no, if Rg2 is ambiguous, just pick a rook at random! Nice.
Jul-26-10  bravado1: Strange. I had an impression that Howell was winning, but later messed it all up. I haven't analysed the game, though. Just my thoughts while watching the game live.

tamar: Lagrave tried to get a wild position, but had no takers.

if 26 Nxd6 Qxd6 27 Rxg5 Lagrave would have the choice between 27...Ne6 and the obscure looking 27...Qa6 (Rybka's 1st choice at 0.00)

Both appear playable.

tamar: Actually, only 27...Qa6 is playable.

after 26 Nxd6 Qxd6 27 Rxg5 Ne6 28 Nc4 Rxc4 29 dxe6 Qxe6 White gets a winning attack with 30 Qh2 Qc6 31 Rh1 and while White's King has a safe spot on a1, Black loses his King shelter.

But 27...Qa6 looks like a safe alternative.

Sep-10-14  Everett: Krasenkow claims that White has a saving attempt on move 31 with <31.Nxa4 Nxa4 32.Qa5 Nc5 33.Qc7>. Interesting.
May-18-18  Shadow4523: Nice trap but white avoided it
27. Nxf3 Qxf3 28. Rdf1 Qxf1+ 29. Rxf1 Rxf1+ 30. Ka2 Nb3
