Sep-29-10  Shajmaty: Alexei improves the known 13. ♖g1 with 13. g5. Wild game!
Sep-29-10  MagisterMusicae: FIRE ON BOARD!
Sep-29-10  ounos: Wow...he really did play 21. a4!
Sep-29-10  ounos: And I commented without seeing the great fireworks afterwards :)
Sep-29-10  Brandon plays: Hot dang... That is some crazy chess. White throws away pieces left and right and black can't stop him.
Oct-01-10  faramarzrastin: No wonder Najdorf had never been played by Karpov. It is too complex
Oct-01-10  computer chess guy: 27. ♗xf6 was gutsy, to say the least. Computer engines I have tried prefer ♗g3 with an = score.

kingscrusher: I have video annotated this very sharp game:

Oct-08-10  whiteshark: <Brandon plays: <... White throws away pieces left and right and black can't stop him.>> Black started sacrifying pieces (21...Nxb2) and except a short pseudo-sac phase from move 29 onwards Black has always been behind, materialistically.
Oct-08-10  HSOL: Black (Berg) said (well, on a blog IIRC and the Swedish captain too) after the game that black was winning but Berg's time management was awful and he was in severe time trouble and throw away the position.
Dec-18-10  danbotea05: My opinion is that after 27 Bxf6 , black had 27...exd3 28.Bxh8 Nxd5 29.Qxd3 Qf4+ 30.Ke2 Rxc2+ and black wins. Do I miss something?
Mar-11-13  Poisonpawns: Berg played an excellent game, but missed a few sharp chances. Namely 25..Qa5!,(Nb1! is good also). The idea behind Qa5 is: 1)To strengthen d5 push so that white cannot capture on d5 at all without losing e.g 25..Qa5 26.Re1 d5! 27.Qa7 b3!

I think Black has a nice advantage with 27..Nxd5!28.Rxd5 Qxc2+ 29.Ke1 Bxf6+ To convert the adv, is another thing. It is a minefield.

Finally, Berg succumbs with the natural looking 28..Qd7? when the counter intuitive(allowing a fork with check) Qc6! seems unclear. Unfortunately, Berg finds Qc6 two moves too late.

e.g. 28..Qc6 29.d7+ Kf7 30.dxc8Q Rxc8
