NM JRousselle: These games against chess patrons can not be taken too seriously, especially in this era.

Capablanca was notorious for losing games to ladies in simuls.

MissScarlett: Are the colours correct? The <Westminster Gazette> of January 24th 1903 gives Mieses as White.

<During the recent Hanover Tournament Tchigorin demolished the Danish Gambit (with the simple device of 5...Q to K2) which Mieses up to then had played with a fair amount of success and conspicuous ability. Subsequently Mieses played it in an off-hand game at Stockholm, but it is doubtful, nevertheless, whether he will venture to trust it again on important occasions.>

Mieses played the Danish no less than 6 times at Monte Carlo (1903) (where <5...d6> came into vogue), but less often thereafter: https://www.chessgames.com/perl/che...
