Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-18-11  WiseWizard: Impressive how tightly Anand's pieces always coordinate.
Nov-18-11  serenpidity.ejd: STUBBORN FISHY VISHY
Vishy has not yet learned the lessons Kasparov taught him in their encounters with the Caro. Still insisting eh!? I will say it again and again that Garri has put a closure to this defence. This def. has no place in top level and top calibre player competition. The Caro-Kann deserves to be archived.
Nov-18-11  serenpidity.ejd: "Peter Svidler is not going to be a champ"
Believe you me, after what you have shown in this game I think you have no chances of becoming a world champion. Why? Because you were ill-prepared to tackle this defence. Where were you when Kasparov demolished Vishy with the Caros no matter how Vishy tried. Why the e5 instead of the usual Nc3 or Nd2?
What pissed me is that you know nothing of the defence, obviously, and perhaps scared of Vishy because you tried to exchange queen as white early in the game.END.
Nov-18-11  M.D. Wilson: Relax, dude...
Nov-18-11  Marmot PFL: Anand is the dullest world chimp since Petrosian (not counting Fischer)
Nov-18-11  gun0m: Dear "Marmot PFL".... Anand is the player who always search new path in game/opening instead of orthodox variation ....
Nov-18-11  Highlander18: A few days ago, in the European Team Champ. in Halkidiki, Gashimov tried 13.Be3, vs. Grischuk. V Gashimov vs Grischuk, 2011
Probably Anand should have answered 13.Bh4 with 13...g5 14.Bg3 Bg7, with a complicated play.
Nov-19-11  BobbyFissure: Did anyone else think this game could be interesting if they continued? A little confused by the queen dance and quick draw meself. It looked to me like Svidler was going to get a nagging little edge.
Nov-19-11  King Death: <Bobby> It looks like Svidler could have played on without risking much. Maybe his winning chances weren't great, but I'd love to have this kind of position against any GM with White.
