Apr-27-12  rookey1986: What a game!

http://www.chessvideos.tv/forum/vie...

Jun-04-12  atragon: Amazing game... play a bit inaccurate by black... why 13... g6 instead of tempo-gaining 13... g5? And on 14. b4 better is 14... b6.
Dec-24-15  Swedish Logician: Have there been any 13.b4 games in this Larsen variation?
May-24-23  Prabhat Mukherjea: Savchenko is a gutsy player for sure. He tried this again against Pavel Ponkratov (a very strong player) in 2020 and got the win after Ponkratov blundered with 10..c5?

This variation is considered refuted by Christian Bauer in the Modernized Alekhine, but he missed some Black resources. Even with those its very tough, and it's only a surprise variation. It's 100% bad if the opponent gets to prepare.

May-24-23  Prabhat Mukherjea: Nd7 basically equalizes against the modern if you don't make the knight sacrifice though.
