Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-21-14  Karpova: This game is from the Schlechter-Zinkl match, played in 1894 in the Vienna Chess Club. The result was +4 -4 =3.

On 33...Bc7, the annotator notes that Black considers his game to be drawn and so makes waiting moves. He believed, that White couldn't do anything. There is also a BOOC endgame possible, if everything else is traded off.

An interesting possibility, not mentioned in the annotations, is 43.Qe1.

The endgame is called "instructive" (<lehrreich>) and "of surprising beauty" (<von überraschender Schönheit>).
