Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-28-17  SimonWebbsTiger: 18. Rb1!

A good shout for a cg.com puzzle. And there was Topalov saying he was trying to play a solid game.

Jan-28-17  fisayo123: Deac is a better player than this. I think Topalov was in fact trying to keep it solid but his opponent forced the complications and it backfired.
Jan-28-17  thegoodanarchist: GOTD Pun: "Deac Evasion"
Jan-28-17  thegoodanarchist: How does White refute 25...Qe8?
Jan-28-17  thegoodanarchist: The prosaic way is 26.Rxd8 Qxd8 27. Qxc2 and White has a piece for a pawn.
Jan-29-17  7he5haman: Great stuff
Jan-29-17  dehanne: Black seems to be doing more than fine after 17..0-0

An Englishman: Good Evening: A little duller of mind than usual. After 18.Rb1,Qxb1; 19.Bc6+,Kf8(or e7); 20.Ba3 wins Queen for Rook. Understand that, but what about 18.Rb1,Qxb1; 19.Bc6+,Rd7? Is 20.e6 really that crushing? If yes, this is one of the most surprising combinations I've seen in a while.

17.... 0-0 18.exf6 Qxb7 19. Ba3 Rfe8 20.Qg4 g6 21.Qg5; threatening 22. Qh6 and mate next move 23. Qg7.

Feb-04-17  PhilFeeley: Stuart Conquest said this won best game prize at Gibraltar this year.
Feb-15-17  nopassion4jazz: so sexy

As you can see, white is clearly winning.
