Z. Leslie Hoover was Secretary and later President of the Correspondence Chess League of America (CCLA). He held the US Patent #2219092 (4 Oct. 1937) for one of the first versions of a multiple flash traffic signal now in use today. He died of heart attack in Montoursville, Pennsylvania in 1963.
