DAVID E BURRIS
(born Mar-29-1944, died Jan-29-2001, 56 years old) United States of America

David E. Burris was a master at both OTB and correspondence chess, the editor of the Atlantic Chess News, and the director of the Knoxville Chess Club's Outreach program. He was one of the leading correspondence players in the United States in the 1980s and 1990s. Burris played in the annual USCF Absolute Correspondence Championship six times between 1982 and 1997, winning in 1995. In 1967, he won the Tennessee Open.
