Open Defence: We need a bio :)
Jul-19-10  Benzol: I could take a stab that Radu is Romanian but radu stancu chessforum gives very little away.

:)

Jul-20-10  radu stancu: Well, to start with my family name is <Stanculescu>, I shortened it a bit when creating the screen name. :) I was born in <1981 in Lugoj, Romania>, lived for the most part of my life in <Deva, Romania>, and now I live in <Lyon, France>. My father taught me to play chess but neither he nor my brother were as enthusiastic as me about it so after a while I was left to play against computer programs which is still not something I enjoy a lot. The internet speed being what it was at the time I haven't played much online chess until I came to Rouen, France in 2000. Here two other Romanians at the same university were also getting deeper into the game so I joined them and we started playing on Yahoo!Games and among ourselves and reading what books we could get. In 2005, I started playing correspondence chess at a friend's website and then I discovered <gameknot.com> on which I play as <radus>. And of course I'm also a member of <chessagems.com>, otherwise I couldn't be posting this. ;)
Jul-20-10  radu stancu: That was fast, thanks! :)

You are most welcome Radu. I've done a good number of these bios by now. Would you mind posting your birthday also? However, if you don't want everyone to know that's OK too.

:)

Jul-20-10  radu stancu: Not a problem: 26/06/1981.
Oct-24-10  Benzol: C Stanculescu Any relation?
Nov-06-10  radu stancu: None that I know of. By the way, could it be possible for my name to be changed to the full version: Stanculescu instead of Stancu?
Nov-07-10  radu stancu: Thanks. :)
