Feb-26-09  WhiteRook48: never won a single game
Nov-03-10  kellmano: Got a quick draw with Khalifman though.

And lost a seriously good game against Prohorov.

jessicafischerqueen: He won the last seven rounds in a row at the 1961 <RSFSR Championship> in Omsk, a startling finish to wind up in a five-way tie for second, behind <Polugaevsky>.

jessicafischerqueen: <Benzol> his name is <Lev>, and he's listed on chessmetrics.

He did pretty well at <Kislovodsk, 1962>, outscoring <Dubinin, Tolush, Kotov, Shamkovich, Anatoly Lein> and others. I think this was a Swiss or team event though? Not sure but here you can also deduce his birthdate:

http://chessmetrics.com/cm/CM2/Sing...

He was 28 years old in January, 1962.

I spent two hours today trying to find a photo or even basic information on him using Russian search terms.

Unfortunately there's also a famous writer named <Lev Belov> who hogs all the "google energy."

jessicafischerqueen: <whiteshark> Great work! So the player pages can be joined together?

whiteshark: <jf♕> At least Belov vs Nezhmetdinov, 1961 belongs to Lev, as it was played in Omsk 1961, too.

There are a few other Belovs, born in 1930/40 on the FIDE page, so there is no full certainty. http://ratings.fide.com/search.phtm...

365chess started only with his 1962' games http://www.365chess.com/players/Lev...

GrahamClayton: Game #4 is played by IM Igor Belov. I have sent in a correction slip asking for that game to be removed from the Belov page and placed in a new Igor Belov page.
