Mar-07-05  sneaky pete: <Benzol> It is. Widow of Boris Rytov. The first o in <Rotova> should have a ~ or - on top of it and is pronounced <ee> afaik.

She wrote her name as <Rytowa> when I met het in a correspondence game in 1991 and as <Rotova> when I played her again in 2000.

In 1983 she published a book, called "Memories about Paul Keres". It consists of stories and memories about Keres, written by his close friends and many famous chess players, who admired him. Smyslov, Tal, Spassky, Euwe,...

Nov-17-14  ljfyffe: Rotova placed second at the Ladies World CC Championship III (1978-1984). Equal 5th at CC IV (184-1992).
Jul-18-15  ljfyffe: In the 1984-1992 IV she and Praznik each had 8 and a half points, of 13 possible, but the latter is officially placed 6th, having lost to Rotova, who is listed under Estonia; but under the Soviet Union, in the previous Ladies World.
