 | | WannaBe: I've noticed something interesting, started about oh, 3 or 4 weeks ago. Possibly earlier. (No, it's not the/my rash...)
You know how a blue link turns purple once it's clicked? the "chessforum" link, both in my quicklink bar and the ones at the very bottom of each web page turns blue like 4 times a day. Is this a new site-side refresh? Because No other links at the bottom of each web page e.g. "Home", "Laboratory", "Profile", or "New Kibitzin" turns blue. Just curious. And WebMD have not been able to help with this... |

 | | Susan Freeman: <offframp> Yeah. Chessgames only offers one lear memberships currently. However, a lifetime membership might be happening soon. It would be $400 USD if anyone is interested. good for 75 years. Let me know if this is a thought that might interest you. |

 | | Check It Out: Considering the average age of CG users id offer a 20 year membership for $200. |

 | | Total Jim: it seems that the Opening Explorer is having a problem ... when seen from the White side of the board, the opening position shows that the database contains 1,818,479 games ... but ...
when flipped to the Black side of the board, the opening position indicates a database content of 1,799,077 games ... I'm pretty sure that both values should be the same ... also ...
the statistics for the available moves are slightly skewed between the White and the Black viewpoints ... I'm not sure how all of this works behind the scenes, but I'm guessing that a recent update failed to properly run the mysterious "script" that is supposed to bring everything truly up to date ... best regards ... |

 | | Gottschalk: <jnpope>
I'm sending the 2024 Spanish Absolute Chess Championship games once again.
I hope that now the pgn would be totally satisfactory. |
|
Apr-24-25 | | stone free or die: Can we reconsider the color scheme for <CG> quotes within quotes? <outside <quote within quote> outside> The idea should be to make the color levels stand out from each other. The brown/reddish-brown colors are almost the same to my eye. Didn't it use to be different?
I think so, I remember a brown/blue scheme from long ago. |
|
Apr-24-25 | | stone free or die: (My memory appears faulty, checking Wayback I see the current scheme may have always been the way it was... I still think the color contrast could be improved) |

Not this. What source? I rather doubt the year 1853, as well. |
|
Apr-25-25 | | stone free or die: I think a <[Source_note]> might be needed too, let's probe a bit... <Missy>, why are you doubtful of the year (1853)? . |
|
Apr-25-25
 | | MissScarlett: Just seems too early based on their ages. |
|
Apr-26-25 | | stone free or die: <Missy> the game was published in 1853, so that's the latest date it could come from. |
|
Apr-26-25
 | | MissScarlett: Needless to say, I need the source. |
|
Apr-26-25 | | stone free or die: <<Missy> Needless to say, I need the source.> We all need the source, but usually that's the job of the submitter. Nevertheless, to alleviate your distress:

|
Apr-26-25 | | stone free or die: <MissScarlett: Where's the mention of London?> Give the gal/uy an inch and s/he wants a mile.
(I didn't submit the game after all) |

 | | FSR: I submitted a game Ingersol-Walton a few minutes ago. This tag should be added to the PGN: [Source "https://www.iccf.com/game?id=1530065"]
Thanks. |

 | | Check It Out: CG, not sure if you are aware: on my PC the pun of the day looks weird on the main page: Götterdämmerung
But then looks fine on the actual game page.
But, on my cell phone, the problem is reversed! Looks good on the main page, but weird on the game page. Some sort of code problem? |
