Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-12-17  fisayo123: Carlsen plays with the same level in Rapid as he does in Classical. There's little to no variation as to the strength of his moves. It's unbelievable.
Nov-12-17  waustad: By the time they got to blitz Carlsen was crushing him.
Nov-13-17  CountryGirl: The Nimzo and the Ruy wins - wow. Like Capablanca.
Nov-13-17  Sokrates: Yes, it has become more and more apparent that the supremacy of the world champion grows when time formats get shorter.

It must be quite disheartening for the other players to know that the classical format is the only format where they have got a reasonable chance to pass his armor.

Capa was and is an undisputed legend. But IMO Carlsen is even more impressive since he seems to manage wildly dynamic middle games and complex endgames equally well.

chancho: Ding can say he won a game over Magnus Carlsen, but he's getting stomped in this format by the WCC.
Nov-13-17  botvinnik64: What a beat down: LD with only one win after 18 games. Is it the time control, or the pressure of facing MC game after game?
Nov-13-17  stst: All Chino players need to have intensive training in all kinds of rapid/blitz/?? formats. This requires deep understanding of all openings, variations, and tough, long term training. Right now, they will be crushed in all kinds of rapids.
Nov-14-17  ex0duz: botvinnik64: both, seem my comment in the other thread.
