| Aug-13-14 | | AJ of Alaska: I read somewhere that Kasparov now may lead a breakaway movement from FIDE. If he tries to do that I am not at all surprised. His personality is such that he simply cannot accept to be defeated. He has tried to ruin FIDE in the past bry breaking out with his egocentric PCA Project, now he may try to ruin FIDE again. But he will not be allowed to do this. Not his time... As a chess player I have enormous respect for him. He is one of the greatest of all time, of course. Bur as a person, and in everything else outside of chess, he is a big NOBODY! |

Nana Dzagnidze was leading in the battle for the board 1 prize but didn't play today. Playing for better teams, she had a higher performance rating, as did Hou Yifan going into the final round. The latter drew with Anna Muzychuk. |

The idea that there is a way to apply ideas about sex to improve chess skills, and vice versa seems very attractive. Will this book ever be published? Pogonina: "Frankly speaking, I am not sure whether this book will ever be finalized and published or not. | Aug-21-14 | | Octavia: <two chess players/participants died during the Olympiad’2014.> When you have thousands of people gathered in one space it's kinda normal that some should die especially if lots of them are old - look up statistics . The Aussies were 51 & improved, the Scots were 52 & did badly in the last 2 rds & dropped. Its may be not a good idea to play in all the rds as Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant did. |
