offramp: Whitsun is the 5th Sunday after Epiphany's last Hilary; that's a quarter day. It's a Rogation Day, a day of Compulsion in the whole of Christendom. In the Eastern Orthodox church chess is forbidden at Whitsun, the penalty is 10 minutes in the sin-bin.
