Tilburg Interpolis (1982)

The 6th Interpolis tournament was a Category XIV event (Elo average 2599). Twelve GMs incl. world champion Karpov and former world champions Petrosian and Smyslov competed in the all-play-all format, from 3-8 pm and with adjourned games in the morning the following day. Total prize fund 85,000 Dutch guilders, with 6,000 guilders to the tournament winner and in addition 750 guilders for each won game. Chief arbiter: Constant Orbaan.

Eleven rounds in 17 days, starting on Thursday 30 September. Rest days 3, 4, 8, 9, 12 & 15 October. Karpov (who got his Round 10 game postponed by one day) won the event for the 4th time, with 7.5/11.
