  beatgiant: Here's a link to a biography. http://jermuk-swiss-2017.chessacade...

It says, <From 2003 to 2014 he was the President of the Chess Federation of Vayots Dzor Region.>

Atterdag: I must oversee something, but I can't find Mr Avagyan's date of death on the official page or anywhere else. Regardless, he seems to have been an energetic, very entreprenant man who accomplished a lot, thus worth a good memorial.

beatgiant: <Atterdag> Here's his page on Armenian Wikipedia: https://hy.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D5%8...

The infobox has Մահացել է փետրվարի 1, 2014 which I can't read of course, but online translators give it as "Died February 1, 2014."

Jun-06-25  ultrausurper: Aravindh wins his third consecutive closed tournament, after Chennai and Prague. He is now ranked #9 in the world. Congrats!

Atterdag: Congrats to the winners. And then we have Samuel Sevian, who travelled to Jermuk in Armenia with the fabulous goal to draw all nine games. A 24 year old with ambitions!
