Groningen (1988) |
"The closed tournament, category 10 of FIDE, saw a convincing victory for the Australian Ian Rogers, who was always ahead in the standings, not even worried by his only slip-up in the penultimate round against second-placed Lubomir Ftacnik. The young and brand new world junior champion, Joel Lautier, tried his luck without success, despite a nice victory against John Nunn. The Dutchman Brenninkmeijer reached an IM norm."
