Asian Continental Championship (Women) (2016)

The women's section of the 2016 Asian Continental Chess Championships was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from May 25 to June 3; like the open section, it was a 9-round Swiss System tournament. Kulkarni Bhakti placed clear first with 7.0/9, winning the championship and the $5,000 first prize and qualifying for the FIDE Women's World Championship tournament; she was the only player not to lose a game. Dinara Saduakassova and Soumya Swaminathan shared second place with 6.5/9.

The time control was 90 minutes for the first 40 moves and 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1.
