MissScarlett: Niemann in the A group, Yoo in the B group....disrespected on every level.
Nov-01-22  ZoboBear 000000001: <Classical games: Hans Niemann beat Christopher Yoo 2 to 1.>

The <CG> db speak for itself.

Nov-03-22  karik: I read "Fail Chess Classic".

Should I go to a dentist...

  ketchuplover: go nyzhnyk !!!!!!
Nov-03-22  jerseybob: <MissScarlett: Niemann in the A group, Yoo in the B group....disrespected on every level.> Looks like the pairings are strictly by ratings, but maybe you're just being facetious. I tend to be too literal sometimes.
Nov-04-22  yiotta: <karik: I read "Fail Chess Classic".

Should I go to a dentist...>

You should go to an optometrist.

Nov-05-22  BxChess: <yiotta: <karik: I read "Fail Chess Classic".

You should go to an optometrist.>

Or perhaps an optimist.

MissScarlett: Haven't been following the games, but with 5 consecutive draws, Niemann is at serious risk of becoming boring.
Nov-07-22  diceman: <MissScarlett:

Haven't been following the games, but with 5 consecutive draws, Niemann is at serious risk of becoming> Giri.

Nov-07-22  BxChess: I think Niemann's conservative play so far is a correction from the US Championships, where he scored as many wins as Caruana, but more losses. Arguably he lost two games by pressing for a win in a drawn position. Exciting chess no doubt, but it doesn't win tournamants.
Nov-08-22  jerseybob: <diceman: <MissScarlett: Haven't been following the games, but with 5 consecutive draws, Niemann is at serious risk of becoming> Giri.> Who was the old-timer who was nicknamed "Remis Kaiser", Schlechter? Niemann is looking very Schlechterian in this tourney.
Nov-10-22  EvanTheTerrible: Niemann finally notches a win. Now over 2700 once more.

HeMateMe: CNN conducted exit polls to see if anyone was experiencing vibrating love beads. No definitive conclusions just yet.

fredthebear: Would you admit to that on national TV? Me neither, not that it applies.

Although, I might have to reconsider if people thought that I was... boring.

Nov-10-22  greed and death: Yu Yangyi has won Group A. Lenderman Group B
Nov-11-22  stone free or die: Of the four top players of Group A, three were undefeated.

Niemann finished fourth, with 5 points (+1 -0 =8).

HeMateMe: I guess it's possible to be the possessor of vibrating love beads but <not> be a chess tournament cheater?

I'm starting to think that Rex Sinquefield is thinking "I'm too old for this sh***t".

we love ya Rex. Hang in there. USA chess collapses without you and your wife. Please.

PawnSac: well HMM I'm not so sure about "collapses" but there is no question US chess has been significantly helped by them. I'm thankful
