GCT Paris Rapid & Blitz (2021)

The GCT Paris Rapid & Blitz was the second of five events of the $1,275,000 Grand Chess Tour 2021. It took place at the Mobilier National in Paris, France, from 18-22 June. Seven of the 10 tour regulars, So, Vachier-Lagrave, Firouzja, Aronian, Caruana, Radjabov and Rapport, were joined by event wild cards Nepomniachtchi, Svidler, Bacrot and Kramnik. The Rapid part was a 10-player round-robin and featured three rounds each day on the first three days, with a time control of 25 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second delay from move 1. The final two days were a Blitz double round-robin with 18 rounds of 5 minutes + 2-second delay. Rapid games counted double, with 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw. The games began each day at 2 pm local time. Svidler participated in the Rapid only, and Kramnik in the Blitz only. The tournament director was Tony Rich. Chief arbiter: Stephane Escafre. Number of games played: 45 Rapid + 90 Blitz = 135.

Wesley So won with 24.5/36 and earned 13 Grand Chess Tour points (GP):

Tabanus: Two GM draws were rejected, so 133 games.

Radjabov should have 1 GP perhaps if one has Bacrot/Kramnik together as no. 9 with 15.5 points. The official site has 17 pts for Caruana, I don't get it.

Jul-16-21  benderules: There is not a page about the GCT Croatia. Why?
