Sigeman & Co (2005) The 13th Sigeman & Co tournament was a 10-player round robin played 15-24 April 2005 at the 5th floor of the Hippodromen building in Malmö, Sweden (Rounds 1-5) and at the Quality Hotel in Høje Taastrup near Copenhagen, Denmark (Rounds 6-9). Nakamura's match against Karjakin was purely uneven. Mar-28-23    waddayaplay: I remember going visiting the tournament, despite finding it boring to watch chess. But I figured why not (it cost some money and I was poor, but it wasn't expensive). I remember that Nakamura would stare at you when you opened the door to walk in, unlike other players who were totally focused on the game. I guess we expected Nakamura to improve from then on but I always felt he suffered by being an American and not being able to play as many top tournaments as Carlsen. Also, the organizer Sigeman is a law firm, in case anyone wonders. I once played the owner Johan Sigeman, rated around 2200. He was a nice guy, who told me he was "grossly overrated" (I was around 1750 and lost).
