This event in Barbizon Palace Hotel was sponsored by the "Optiebeurs" or European Options Exchange (EOE), who celebrated its 10 years existence. Quadruple round-robin, 12 rounds in 16 days, starting on Friday 13 May. Rest days 16, 20, 21 & 25 May (24 games). Organizer: Yvette Nagel. Chief arbiter: Constant Orbaan. First prize: 30,000 Dutch guilders. In the St. Nicholas church next to the hotel, Hans Ree, Gert Ligterink and Jeroen Piket analyzed the games of the rounds. Kasparov won with 9/12.
