Great Players
Compiled by addiction to chess
--*--

There were many great chess players and even more chess brilliancies. Here is a collection of some of the best players and some of their best games. I could have started with the great Lucena or Francois-André Philidor but I decided that it was best to begin in the Nineteenth Century since it was only then that strong players were plentiful enough to allow a self proclaimed genius to test himself against others who wanted to be known as "the best."
